For the second year in a row, the Center for Strategic Studies is at the top of the list of centers (Distinguished Center’s for Excellence), after the Center achieved first rank in the Middle East and North Africa region for the years (2016-2019). This is included in the annual report of the Global Go To Think Tank Index 2020 (published on January 28, 2021) conducted by the Think Tank and Civil Societies Program (TTCSP) at the University of Pennsylvania in the United States. 

The Pennsylvania Report ranks think tanks according to their importance. Where the classification included more than 7,500 research institutions and think tanks around the world in the year 2020. According to the foundations and tools used, more than 28 indicators were used in the assessment; These include the institution/center’s ability to produce new knowledge, policy papers and research, the ability to bridge the gap between academic institutions and decision makers, the quantity and quality of publications and their reach to readers, in addition to the extent to which the institutions/centers’ management and researchers are committed to research ethics and their seriousness in making change. 

The center ranked 37th in the world among research centers concerned with foreign policy and international affairs. 

The center ranked 130th in the world among the best research centers around the world (excluding the United States of America) out of more than 7,500 centers in the world. 

On this occasion, Prof. Zaid Eyadat, Director of the Center, would like to thank all the staff of the Center, the University of Jordan and the Center Council for their continuous support to the vision and activities of the Center and its role as a distinguished intellectual and scientific center.

By achieving these results, which we are all proud of, the center will make every effort to provide what serves the public interest of the state and society, and what benefits decision makers in the areas of public policies, foreign policy issues, security, defense and strategic affairs.
