The book records the proceedings of the symposium “The Role of the Media in Democracy: The Case of Jordan” which was held by the Center for Strategic Studies at the University of Jordan in September 1994. This symposium, the first of its kind, aimed to evaluate the achievements of the Jordanian media during five years of democracy, especially since the parliamentary elections 1989.
A distinguished group of male and female media professionals participated in it with meaningful banknotes, in which they discussed all the factors that help advance media work and its role in advancing democracy.
The book is a valuable reference for the researcher and the student, and it can be used in preparing future studies on the media and its role in supporting democracy.
