The Centre for Strategic Studies (CSS) at the University of Jordan is implementing a new project under the name of: “Qararuna: Strengthening Civil Society Organizations in Jordan Towards Better Influencing on the Democratization Process”, which is combined under the Centre’s mandate to contribute to the democratization process through civil and peaceful frameworks, to activate strategic and political studies and to strengthen civil society in Jordan and the Middle East Region.

Qararuna project is implemented at CSS during 30 months. The project is funded in cooperation with the Spanish Agency for International Development and Cooperation (AECID) and the European Union (EU). It aims at supporting and strengthening the role of civil society organizations (CSOs) in contributing to democratization and good governance; and influencing policy making through fostering active civil society organizations in the promotion of political participation, advocacy, electoral observation and parliamentary monitoring, through focusing on women and youth.

The project involves carrying out a research study on the current situations and capacities of civil society organizations, which will be the fundamental entry towards designing training programs that target civil society organizations working in the related abovementioned fields.

The Launching Ceremony, will be held on Sunday, November, 4th 2018, at 12:00, at Qairawan Hall (Main Restaurant), at the premises of the University of Jordan.
